A: Yes. There should be no difficulty in obtaining a mortgage (subject to status) and Rushyglen is making arrangements with a leading bank to ensure that this process is as speedy and seamless as possible.

Q: Will planning permission be granted?

A: Planning Permission depends on many factors and can never be guaranteed. We will make a careful evaluation of the likelihood of consent being available. Everything about a Rushyglen Cottage makes it fit with most planning policies and guidelines. Planners are looking for attractive buildings that bring high quality business into an area.

Q: Will every Rushyglen cottage look the same?

A: Traditional buildings of the countryside have been analysed and found to follow visually pleasing and remarkably consistent rules of proportion. Rushyglen cottages follow these rules too but all sorts of variations are possible such as courtyard developments, terraces and Rushyglen are offering a range of models including the dormered cottage and the single storey cottage. If there is demand we will be providing larger houses too. In addition there will be variants that follow regional vernacular traditions and different finishes such as stone walls and, where appropriate, corrugated iron or thatched roofs.

Q: Who will do the changeovers?

A: Initially this is not a service that Rushyglen can provide but once we achieve critical mass in an area (around 15 units) we intend to offer owners who wish it a full professional management service.

Q: How much does a Rushyglen Cottage cost?

A: We can discuss costs with you but we need more information about your particular site before we can firm them up. We are confident that the method of construction makes these cottages unbeatable value for money. It should be noted, however, that Rushyglen cottages are aimed at the premium market. A budget version will be available but it will not be promoted or marketed as part of the Rushyglen brand. If you are buying a branded Rushyglen Cottage we will also provide a complete fit-out package.
